PETALING JAYA:
A police sergeant has been remanded for the second time to assist in another rape probe, days after being arrested for allegedly raping a Form 4 student last year.

Batu Gajah magistrates’ court judge Juraidah Abbas allowed the cops to remand the 42-year-old suspect for one day Bernama reported.

A 16-year-old had alleged that she was raped by a police officer in a car in front of a police station and also at a parking lot in front of a supermarket at Seri Iskandar in July and October last year.

The matter came to light after the teenager told her mother about it.

Perak police chief Yusri Hassan Basri later said the suspect was detained on Sunday to assist in an investigation into the victim’s claims.

He was then remanded until yesterday and was released on police bail, before he was arrested again over a separate rape investigation.
