PUTRAJAYA:
Government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said the court will decide on whether streaming service provider Netflix will have to take down a documentary on the 1MDB saga.

“I have received advice from various people, including the attorney-general, regarding this matter.

“Since it has been brought up in court, we cannot override the process, so let the court decide,” he told reporters in a press conference today.

Earlier this month, law firm Shafee & Co said the documentary “Man on the Run” is sub judice and prejudicial to Najib Razak’s defence in his ongoing 1MDB trial.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) set up to look into matters related to the sovereignty of Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks, and South Ledge was very important.

“Discussions within the Cabinet have deemed it important and crucial, as it involves borders that relate to the sovereignty of the Malay rulers,” he said.

Fahmi clarified that the RCI’s list of members would be presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong first for his consent before being announced to the public.

He also said the Cabinet today decided to reorganise the preschool education system nationwide to ensure comprehensive and quality education for children.

“Further details regarding this will be announced by the education minister soon,” he said.
