Terengganu police chief Mazli Mazlan said they received a call from security personnel at the complex at 7.30am about the discovery of a suspicious package in front of the gate.
Policemen who arrived at the scene found a white package wrapped with A4 paper filled with batteries and fragments from a torchlight, Bernama quoted him as saying.
The package was sent for forensic examination and would be disposed of if no explosive elements were found.
“We will continue to patrol and monitor (the area) as a precautionary measure,” Mazli said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
