Terengganu govt sets RM2,000 as bonus for civil servants

State secretary says the payout is in line with that announced by the federal government.

State secretary Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil said the bonus will be paid by the end of February.
KUALA TERENGGANU:
The Terengganu government is to pay out a bonus of RM2,000 to all state civil servants this year.

State secretary Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil said the sum was in line with the bonus announced by the federal government.

“I know a lot of people are waiting for the bonus … we have made a decision.

“If we follow the administration, we will follow the RM2,000 recommended by the federal government (and it will be paid out) some time around the end of February,” he said at Wisma Darul Iman today.

Tengku Farok also urged civil servants to register themselves with the Padu centralised database to ensure everyone benefitted from the government’s provisions.

He said more than 2,000 of 14,457 state civil servants had registered with Padu as of today.

“The state government will monitor the updating of information in Padu. This is to ensure no one is left out and everyone remains on the government’s radar.

“Updating data in the Padu system also needs to be done to get an overview of the current status of the people for the government to improve the mechanism for determining target groups (to give out aid),” he said.
