Sanusi at MACC HQ over Kedah FA graft probe

The Kedah menteri besar previously claimed he was MACC’s real target in its probe into alleged corruption involving some RM6 million.

Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor reportedly arrived at the MACC headquarters at 8.30am this morning.
PETALING JAYA:
Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor was at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) headquarters this morning over a probe into a corruption case involving the Kedah Football Association.

According to Utusan Malaysia, Sanusi arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at around 8.30am.

As of 10am, he was still giving his statement to the graft busters.

On Tuesday, an MACC source said the anti-graft agency would summon the menteri besar of a northern state as part of its investigation into a corruption case involving over RM6 million.

On Saturday, Kedah FA vice-president Radhi Mat Din confirmed that its CEO, Zulkifli Che Haron, was among four men detained in an investigation into a corruption case involving RM6 million in 2020.

The RM6 million was reportedly given as a kickback to allow a company owner to obtain a tender to build a racetrack, and another project to operate and maintain five water reservoir plants in the state.

On Monday, Sanusi claimed he was MACC’s real target in its probe, alleging that the others who had been detained were merely “accessories” as “they” really wanted to link him to the corruption cases.

However, he did not specify who “they” were.
