PETALING JAYA:
The Sabah government has ordered all its government-linked companies (GLCs) to refrain from speaking out about development projects without permission from the state Cabinet.

Chief minister Hajiji Noor said all heads of state GLCs should not make announcements or issue statements regarding development projects without first obtaining the state Cabinet’s green light.

He also said that all state GLCs should refer to their respective ministers or the state Cabinet before entering into any agreements to avoid future complications.

Separately, Hajiji said the state government had agreed to establish a special task force to monitor water and electricity supply issues in the state.

He was quoted by Berita Harian as saying that the task force would be led by state secretary Safar Untong.

On Oct 1, 2023, Hajiji said the state government would ensure that water and electricity supply problems would be resolved within two to three years.

He said several measures had been implemented to increase supply and the state was taking measures to ensure that the people would have access to clean water and uninterrupted electricity supply.
