PETALING JAYA:
Police have confirmed making an arrest after a man reportedly attempted to gain access to Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari’s official residence by hiding in the back seat of a car.

Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim told FMT an arrest had been made, but was not in a position to give further details at the time.

Earlier, a report and a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that a news reporter was caught trespassing on the premises in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Amirudin’s residence supervisor Musa Zin lodged a police report saying he was informed that a man, suspected to be a Harakah Daily reporter, was caught attempting to enter the residence by hiding in the back seat of a car about to enter the residence.

The other occupant was apparently scheduled to attend a meeting there.

The suspect was believed to have been denied permission to enter the residence before the alleged attempt to trespass, according to the report.
