PETALING JAYA:
Mrs Malaysia World 2023 P Vanishaantini is to wow the audience in Las Vegas, US, with a huge costume designed on the “wau” (kite).

She will be wearing the costume to compete for the Best National Costume title at the Mrs World 2023 pageant next month, Bernama reported.

The costume was designed by Saran Anak Lagong. It is 3.8m high and 4.8m wide.

It successfully entered into the Malaysia Book of Records as the “largest wau costume” at an event held at a hotel in Klang today.

Vanishaantini, 27, hoped to publicise Malaysia’s uniqueness and finesse in local craftsmanship.

“I am proud to represent Malaysia at the international level with this costume. It will showcase something unique and not seen before this,” she said.

The costume weighs about 10kg.

Vanishaantini said she was preparing herself mentally and physically to grace this glamorous event.

“I have been consistently practising for the catwalk since March, taking care of my health while also looking after my business and engaging in social work.

“I hope I can give my best at the competition,” she said.
