Police are investigating the death of a 29-year-old foreigner believed to have been killed during a brawl in Penampang, Sabah, today.

Penampang police chief Sammy Newton said they were alerted by the public about a fight involving several parang-wielding men along Jalan Penampang-Kota Kinabalu.

Bernama reported that police found the man lying on the road in a pool of blood. He had multiple stab and slash wounds.

The public is urged to refrain from spreading photos of the crime scene or uploading unverified information regarding the incident on social media platforms.
