KUALA LUMPUR:
A foreigner was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a local man at a hotel in Genting Highlands yesterday.

Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar said the suspect, a 45-year-old man, was arrested near the hotel on the same day of the incident.

He said the victim’s body was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan for a post-mortem, while preliminary investigations indicated signs of a struggle on the victim’s body.

“The 51-year-old victim was a businessman and had a criminal record for 23 offences, including for drugs. The findings of the autopsy are expected to be ready later today,” he said.

According to Zaiham, the police have obtained a seven-day remand order on the suspect from yesterday for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
