
Asyraf said such actions adversely affect genuinely impoverished students whose rights have been usurped.
“Please do not falsify (your) income just to be classified as B40 to secure your child’s admission to MRSM.
“Spare a thought for the children who study amid misfortune, having unfairly gained from the rights of other less fortunate individuals,” he said on Facebook.
While there is no policy stating that only impoverished students can enter MRSM, Mara prioritises children from low-income families in its student intake.
The agency’s policy stipulates that 60% of MRSM students must come from the B40 group, while the rest are candidates who pass the Ujian Kecenderungan Kemasukan MRSM or UKKM from the M40 and T20 groups.
MRSM was established to nurture a holistic generation of Bumiputera students excelling in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
