PETALING JAYA:
The Madani government’s one-year anniversary programme is expected to be held at the state level from the first quarter of next year.

Communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil said the dates for hosting the programme would depend on existing circumstances.

“We know that March is the fasting month, so perhaps we must adjust first before announcing the schedule,” said Fahmi, who is also the unity government spokesman.

Fahmi told Bernama this after appearing as a guest on the Selamat Pagi Malaysia programme aired on TV1 at the grounds of the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here today.

He said the programme at the state level would be organised on a small scale but packed with information regarding every ministry and service provided to the people.

Fahmi said this will help inform the people about the achievements of the government or new policies that have been implemented, such as progressive wages and retargeting subsidies.

“In addition, it is to help the local community and people to take advantage of the presence of all the ministries under one roof,” he said.

Fahmi said the three-day programme at Bukit Jalil, ending today, had been a hit with people, stating that the 50% discount for traffic summonses and exchange of old helmets for new ones had been met with good response.

The police summonses can be settled there until 9pm today.

Bukit Aman traffic investigation and enforcement department director Azman Ahmad Sapri said 37,242 traffic summonses were settled on Friday and yesterday at the stadium.

He said 12,300 traffic offenders paid their fines at the 14 counters as well as via discount vouchers on the police’s MyBayar portal and app.
