KUALA TERENGGANU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a committee chairman of a temporary relief centre on suspicion of certifying a flood relief form containing false details in 2022.
According to a MACC source, the man, in his 60s, was arrested at about 11am yesterday at the MACC office in Kemaman when he came to give his statement.

Sources said the form was allegedly submitted with false details to claim the compassionate cash aid offered by the government to flood-affected heads of households.
Terengganu MACC director Hazrul Shazreen Abd Yazid confirmed the arrest when contacted and said investigations will be carried out under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
The suspect was released on MACC bail after his statement was recorded, he added.
