Wan Fayhsal said the duo — an individual dubbed “Datuk Botak” and a former political aide – were shown in a video he claimed had been circulating on Facebook and TikTok.
“There is a video showing the identity of a ‘Datuk Botak’ … who played a role in bribing and threatening opposition MPs to support the prime minister.
“The video (also) explains the role of a former aide in this matter,” the Machang MP told a press conference in Parliament today.
FMT is withholding the names of the two persons allegedly involved pending their response.
Noting the “identical” press statements released by the four Bersatu MPs who have pledged support for Anwar, Wan Fayhsal said: “If the media pays attention, they will see all the statements are the same, and it seems like a professional operator has provided a template to be signed for support.”
Wan Fayhsal’s claim comes after home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail earlier this morning told the Dewan Rakyat that no police report had been lodged over alleged “rewards” offered for the support of four Bersatu MPs for Anwar.
However, Wan Fayhsal disputed Saifuddin’s reply. He said Bersatu Youth had in fact lodged a report last night.
Muhyiddin Yassin had previously said Bersatu would lodge reports with the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission after four of its MPs pledged their support for the government.
The four are Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang) and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).
