SEPANG:
The foreign ministry has confirmed that another Malaysian family is still in Palestine amid the ongoing regional tensions.

Its secretary-general, Amran Mohamed Zin, said Dr Nurul Ain Latif, her Palestinian husband and their three children, who are Malaysian citizens, are currently residing in the West Bank.

She is not to be confused with Nurul Ain Haron, who arrived at KLIA Terminal 1 today after being evacuated from Gaza.

“What we know now is that there is a family, but not in Gaza. They are in the West Bank.

“Dr Nurul is there with her Palestinian husband and their three children, who are Malaysian citizens,” he told FMT at KLIA Terminal 1.

Amran said the family decided to remain in the West Bank since the situation there was relatively more stable and not as critical as Gaza.

“However, we are constantly communicating with her,” he added.

Earlier today, the government successfully facilitated the evacuation of Nurul Ain Haron and her Palestinian husband from Gaza.

She and her husband were safely evacuated through the Rafah border crossing from Gaza into Egypt, the foreign affairs ministry said.
