
He said it was concerning that constitutional allocations were being used to lure opposition members into supporting the unity government.
“I am worried because it is said that they are also receiving cash incentives, in addition to receiving allocations. There are also other incentives, so I ask that this matter be discussed,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat.
“It won’t be very nice if this were to continue. Seems like the anti-hopping law is only causing bad things.”
The anti-hopping law is only triggered when an MP quits their party to join another.
Shahidan also urged Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul not to reject the motion and be open to discussing the matter in the special chamber sitting.
So far, four PN MPs have declared their support for Anwar’s administration, with the most recent being Jeli MP Zahari Kechik.
The other three are Kuala Kangsar MP Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, Labuan MP Suhaili Abdul Rahman, and Gua Musang MP Azizi Abu Naim. All four are Bersatu MPs.
Suhaili later confirmed receiving allocations for his constituency after declaring support for Anwar on Oct 30.
