KUALA LUMPUR:
Former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng was “very cooperative” with the police in helping them recover 1MDB assets, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said.

“He is very cooperative with the investigation conducted by the commercial crime investigation department and the anti-money laundering investigation unit.

“So far, we are scrutinising the documents that we obtained to track and recover the assets,” he said in a media conference.

Razarudin said police believed there were still more 1MDB assets linked to Ng or his associates that had not been recovered.

Ng was sentenced to 10 years in prison by a New York district court on March 9 for his involvement in embezzling billions of dollars from 1MDB.

He was repatriated to Malaysia last month to assist local authorities in their 1MDB investigation.

Subsequently, CCID director Ramli Yoosuf revealed that the police were recovering 1MDB-linked assets worth millions of ringgit from an individual following their investigation into Ng.
