In a statement released on its website, the embassy said protesters are expected to gather at the Tabung Haji building on Jalan Tun Razak before marching to the embassy.
The embassy said it has “preemptively decided to close its main entrance” and will reopen it after the demonstration has concluded.
It also advised US citizens in the vicinity to exercise caution.
“There is no indication at this time that this demonstration will become violent, but the US embassy reminds US citizens that the nature of protests can change quickly and with little warning,” it said.
While the US embassy did not provide other details on the planned demonstration, a gathering to express solidarity with the Palestinian cause will be held in front of the Palestine embassy, located on Jalan Pegawai, Taman U Thant, after Friday prayers.
A separate gathering by Perikatan Nasional will also be held in front of the National Mosque at 2pm.
