PETALING JAYA: Nine people escaped unharmed after a Rapid KL bus on the T640 route (LRT Taman Jaya-Taman Sri Sentosa) caught fire here this morning.
In a statement, Rapid Bus said the eight passengers and bus driver were unharmed in the incident which occurred at the PJ465 bus stop along Jalan Penchala, near PJ Old Town.
Rapid Bus said the fire and rescue department arrived at the scene at 11.15am and put out the fire 45 minutes later.
The company said all eight passengers took alternative transport to reach their destinations.
“There was no damage to public property and the cause of the fire is still under investigation,” it said.
Rapid Bus added that it will fully cooperate with all relevant authorities in their investigation into the incident.
