Over 3,000 organisations deregistered by RoS since 2021

They were deregistered for being inactive, breaching their respective constitutions, and internal issues, among others.

MELAKA:
The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has deregistered more than 3,000 organisations and associations since 2021 due to various offences, says its director-general Nawardi Saad.

He said the offences committed by the associations included being inactive, not carrying out activities in accordance with their respective constitutions, as well as disputes or internal issues involving members.

“We will continue conducting this process from time to time to ensure that the purpose of every association’s establishment is achieved, in addition to ensuring there are no illegal elements behind the establishment of these associations,” he said.

Nawardi was speaking to reporters after officiating the closing ceremony of an RoS Care programme which was also attended by Melaka RoS director Nurhafidah Ali.
