PETALING JAYA:
A tourist drowned after a boat he was on capsized near the waters of Timba Timba Island in Semporna, Sabah, yesterday.

Semporna police chief Farhan Lee Abdullah said the foreigner, aged 38, was with eight other tourists on the boat when it capsized at 10.10am.

The eight other tourists were rescued.

Police only received a report at 4pm, Harian Metro quoted Farhan as saying, adding that the cause of the capsize was still being determined.

“Police have detained four men, comprising a 22-year-old Malaysian and three foreigners aged between 26 and 40, to assist in the investigation,” he said.
