Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said Hadi was asked 24 questions earlier, of which he responded to five.
“As for the rest, Hadi said he will answer them in court. He is being investigated under the Sedition Act,” he told a press conference at the Bukit Aman police headquarters here.
He said Hadi was also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, which criminalises online content that is deemed “obscene, indecent, false, menacing or offensive in character with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass another person”.
Earlier, Bernama reported that an investigating officer from Bukit Aman recorded a statement from Hadi at PAS’s headquarters.
The Marang MP is alleged to have disputed the authority of the pardons board in a talk he gave in the PAS building in Bakri, Muar, on Aug 26.
During the talk, held as part of a Perikatan Nasional (PN) rally, Hadi is alleged to have discussed the jurisdiction of the pardons board and is said to have claimed the manner in which the country grants pardons to offenders is not in accordance with Islamic teachings.
