With the Aug 12 state elections now settled, IDEAS said it was time for all political parties to now focus on institutional reforms, policy-making, and ensuring good governance.
The government and opposition at both federal and state levels have a pivotal role to play in ensuring proper governance and administration of the nation and respective states, it added.
IDEAS CEO Tricia Yeoh also urged Putrajaya to ensure every state received its fair share of allocations and resources, regardless of the coalition that governed the state.
“There must be compromise, cooperation and synergy between both the federal and state governments in the formation and implementation of policies,” she said.
She also urged all political parties to commit to passing the Political Financing Act to ensure transparency and accountability in political financing.
