Sungai Besi road closure postponed, says DBKL

Kuala Lumpur City Hall says Jalan Sungai Besi will not be closed for one year from tomorrow as announced earlier.

DBKL had earlier said it was closing the Sungai Besi road leading to Sungai Besi or Petaling Jaya (opposite Fraser Business Park), and the Loke Yew roundabout from tomorrow to Aug 4, 2024 to build a new bridge.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The planned one-year closure of Jalan Sungai Besi towards Sungai Besi and Petaling Jaya (in front of Fraser Business Park) and the Loke Yew roundabout beginning tomorrow has been postponed, according to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

In a statement today, DBKL said road users can continue travelling the route as usual.

“The media statement dated Aug 1, 2023 by DBKL on the road closure scheduled to begin on Aug 5, 2023 until Aug 4, 2024 has been cancelled,” DBKL said.

It also did not indicate if the road closure will commence at a later date.

In the earlier statement, DBKL said the route would be closed to enable renovation and bridge construction works at the Loke Yew roundabout.
