PETALING JAYA:
Workers’ rights activist Sivaranjani Manickam will contest the Meru seat under the PSM banner in the coming Selangor state election.

She will join in the crowded race, along with another underdog, Muda, in contesting Pakatan Harapan-held seats.

In a Facebook live event last night, Sivaranjani said she would give her all to serve her home constituency.

She said the core issue concerning Meru were the perennial flash floods, caused by the lack of new drainage systems.

Another concern was the welfare of the residents as a significant number were from the lower-income group.

“I know the local issues and we at PSM have been working on the ground here for many years,” the PSM central committee member said.

PKR’s Fakhrulrazi Mokhtar, the two-term incumbent for Meru, is not expected to defend his seat.

Amanah will field a candidate in the seat – one of nine the Pakatan Harapan component party has been allocated in Selangor.
