
In a parliamentary notice sighted by FMT, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul said he was informed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim about the importance of such a session as it was of public interest.
Eight days have been set aside for the sitting from Sept 11. The mid-term review paper will be tabled on Sept 11, followed by three days of debates from Sept 12 to 14. This will be followed by a winding-up session on Sept 18 and 19.
It was not stated which minister would do the winding-up. FMT has reached out to Johari for clarification.
Tabled in September 2021, the 12MP allocates RM400 billion to develop the country into a high-income nation over the next five years.
The then government identified the plan’s three main themes – resetting the economy, strengthening security and well-being, and advancing sustainability.
While the government described the plan as “transformative”, some have criticised its emphasis on Bumiputera policies and a lack of commitment to strengthen the healthcare sector.
