Perak adds 2,400ha as Malay reserve land

Menteri besar Saarani Mohamad says this additional land is mostly in Mukim Pasir Panjang Hulu and Perak Tengah.

The Perak government has increased Malay reserve land by more than 2,400ha, comprising high-value government land with development potential, says menteri besar Saarani Mohamad.

He said there is now more than 955,000ha of Malay reserve land in the state.

Saarani said this decision was made at the state government executive council meeting yesterday as part of efforts to ensure 50% of the acreage in the state was Malay reserve land.

Saarani said the additional land included that in Pasir Panjang Hulu in Mukim Pasir Panjang Hulu (183ha), and Kampung Makmur, Kampung Gajah, in Perak Tengah (1,102ha).

Others are in Mambang Di Awan (234ha) and Sungai Kroh in Mukim Chenderiang, Batang Padang (476ha).

In Kota Bharu, the areas involved are in Mukim Teja, Kampar (395ha) and Slim Hills in Mukim Slim, Muallim (21.3ha).

An 800ha area in Gunung Bersout, Batang Padang, was also gazetted as Malay reserve land.
