ALOR SETAR:
The Kedah government will close down reflexology centres if they breach their licensing conditions, warns menteri besar Sanusi Nor.

He said this was decided at the state executive council meeting today and local authorities and other enforcement agencies would be monitoring their activities to ensure they abide by the rules.

“If the monitoring by local authorities, police, immigration department and the state government shows that these centres are still involved in prohibited activities, their licences will not be renewed and they will be shut down.

“We will see what legal provisions can be used to stop issuing licences to such centres,” he told a press conference after chairing the state exco meeting here.

Sanusi said, according to the state’s Entertainment Control Enactment, any establishment offering entertainment needs the appropriate licence from the local authorities.

Meanwhile, Sanusi said he will meet with the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah on June 25 to seek his consent to dissolve the state assembly.
