PETALING JAYA: A Super League football player will be charged today with causing hurt to his girlfriend at a hotel here early this month, police said today.
District police chief Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid confirmed the matter, Bernama reported.
The 30-year-old footballer was seen arriving at the court complex here, dressed in a blue shirt and jeans, and accompanied by another man, according to Berita Harian.
The player had been arrested on June 7. Fakhrudin had said in a statement then that a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspect had led to injuries to the victim’s body and damage to her mobile phone.
