Puspakom said this has happened to many of its customers who used the services of runners for vehicle inspection-related matters at its branches, Bernama reported.
“The customer then files a complaint saying that Puspakom is not transparent. As a result, Puspakom has a bad image,” it said in a statement.
To overcome this issue of manipulation of service charges by runners or middlemen, the company has now introduced the Puspakom Approved Customer Representative (PAR) programme.
Using this system, Puspakom will conduct background checks on all runners with the collaboration of relevant authorities. Those who pass the vetting process will be registered as a PAR.
Customers who wish to use the services of runners can refer to the list of registered PAR on its website.
Puspakom added that it encouraged motorists to visit its various branches for vehicle inspections to ensure their personal safety.
