State stand on Sanusi’s claim, Penang PAS told

Lim Guan Eng also calls on Penangites to file police reports against Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor over his claim.

DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng said if the state chapter of the Islamic party failed to do so, it should skip the upcoming Penang polls.
GEORGE TOWN:
DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng has called on Penang PAS to declare its stand on Sanusi Nor’s view that the state is owned by Kedah.

Lim said if the state chapter of the Islamic party failed to do so, it should skip the upcoming Penang polls.

“This is because it will mean that it cannot fully represent the interests of Penangites as well as defend, protect and preserve the Federal Constitution,” the former chief minister said in a Facebook post.

Lim’s comments come in the wake of the Kedah menteri besar’s reiteration of his claim that Penang belongs to Kedah and that there is no such thing as “the Kedah-Penang border.”

Lim, who is also Air Putih assemblyman, accused Sanusi of leveraging on his false claims to gain political mileage in the upcoming state elections.

He called upon Penangites to file police reports against Sanusi for creating public disaffection and attempting to create enmity between Kedahans and Penangites.

“Police reports should be lodged by 1.8 million Penangites to press for action against Sanusi to protect Penang, and to prevent ‘political interlopers’ from invading our state so that we can continue our lives peacefully and enjoy prosperity.”

Yesterday, Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government was prepared to go to court over Sanusi’s claims.
