
Johor police chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the investigation paper regarding the case had been opened under Section 292 (e) of the Penal Code for offering to commit an obscene act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.
“Johor police detected a poster on social media promoting a sex party. Police have issued a stern warning against the party’s organiser to discontinue and cancel the event.
“We will also monitor any illegal event and take strict action if there is a violation of the law,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Kamarul urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Johor police hotline at 07-2212999.
He also advised the public not to speculate on the matter because it could cause public unrest.
On Tuesday, Johor Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Fared Khalid warned that he would put a stop to the planned party and asked for the public’s help in preventing immoral activities from taking place in the state.
