The Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said no casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire started at a TNB substation room inside the mall, and an estimated 70% of the 40x40m substation room was damaged in the fire.
The Kuala Lumpur Command & Control Centre’s Twitter page posted a photo of the fire and said two roads have been closed. Police are at the scene to direct traffic.
In a statement, the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said it received an emergency call at 10.32am. Teams from four fire stations arrived on the scene at 10.40am.
Separately, TNB said the fire has caused supply disruption to users in the Mid Valley and Desa Pantai areas.
It said electricity supply resumed for some consumers at 10.55am, and that it is trying to recover supply for others who were affected by the incident.
Meanwhile, Golden Screen Cinemas said all movie screenings at the mall have been cancelled, and the cinema will be temporarily closed until further notice.

“If you have purchased tickets online, you will be automatically refunded within 14 working days,” it said in a Facebook post.
The cinema said it is not affected by the fire.
It said those who have bought tickets from their kiosks are advised to keep their tickets and seek a refund once the cinema reopens.
