PETALING JAYA: A seven-year-old boy has died after being shot with a homemade pump gun while playing with a friend in a village in Keningau, Sabah, on Monday.
Keningau police chief Rafidah Kasim said the child was confirmed dead when he was brought for treatment at the Nabawan health clinic, Berita Harian reported.
“The police received a report from the clinic informing us that a child died while being treated. The investigation found that the boy was shot by his friend with a homemade pump gun while they were playing,” she was quoted as saying.
The child’s body was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for autopsy.
Police have arrested seven people and seized the weapon for further investigation.
