Andi, who is also the Kalabakan MP, has yet to face any disciplinary action despite going against Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin’s decision to withdraw support for Hajiji in January.
“I will abide by any decision made by the party. If that’s the party’s decision (not to punish him), I will just follow.
“Since no action has been taken, I will continue to fulfil my duties as an Umno assemblyman and MP as usual,” he said, according to Utusan Malaysia.
After Sabah Umno withdrew its support for Hajiji, several of the party’s assemblymen went against Bung and signed statutory declarations backing the chief minister.
Umno then sacked James Ratib (Sugut), Jasnih Daya (Pantai Dalit) and Arsad Bistari (Tempasuk) for backing Hajiji, while Tanjung Keramat assemblyman and Putatan MP Shahelmey Yahya was suspended for six years.
Yusof Yacob (Sindumin) and Hamid Awang (Balung) later quit Umno and joined Hajiji’s Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah with Jasnih, Arsad and James.
