Unhealthy air levels in KL and Penang

The API reading in Cheras and Seberang Jaya stood at 151 as of 10am.

A number of other districts in the country have recorded moderate API levels but are nearing unhealthy, including Segamat, Kota Bharu, Langkawi, Alor Setar, and Kangar.
PETALING JAYA:
Two districts in Kuala Lumpur and Penang are experiencing a slight haze this morning, with the air recording unhealthy levels on the air pollutant index (API).

According to the environment department, the API reading in Cheras, in KL, and Seberang Jaya, Penang, stood at 151 as of 10am.

Cheras had recorded unhealthy API levels since yesterday morning with a reading of 103, before it progressively worsened through the day.

Seberang Jaya had recorded moderate API levels up until 9pm last night, before it rose to 105.

Other districts that have recorded moderate API levels but are nearing unhealthy include Segamat (96), Penang (96), Kota Bharu (94), Langkawi (93), Alor Setar (93), and Kangar (92).

According to the department’s API table as of this morning, there are no districts in the country with a healthy API reading, with most at moderate levels.
