New heads for Bukit Aman narcotics CID, KL police

Pahang, Sabah, Terengganu and Penang also get new police chiefs.

Bukit Aman has announced a slew of promotions and transfers, with Kamarudin Din set to take over as the director of the narcotics criminal investigation department (CID) on May 15.

Kamarudin, who is currently the commercial CID chief in Bukit Aman, will be taking over the post from Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who will become Bukit Aman CID director on Sunday.

Pahang police chief Ramli Yoosuf will replace Kamarudin as the Bukit Aman commercial CID director.

Meanwhile, Penang police chief Shuhaily Zain will become the Kuala Lumpur police chief, while Khaw Kok Chin will take over his post.

All appointments will take effect on May 15.

Sabah will also get a new police chief in Jauteh Dikun following Idris Abdullah’s retirement on March 31. Jauteh is currently deputy Sabah police commissioner.

Deputy Kuala Lumpur police chief Yahaya Othman will become the new Pahang police chief, replacing Ramli. Yahaya has been acting Kuala Lumpur police chief since Azmi Abu Kassim’s promotion as Bukit Aman management department director.

Terengganu police chief Rohaimi Isa will become a deputy director in Bukit Aman’s commercial CID, while Mazli Mazlan will take over his post.

The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) will also get a new commander in Ali Tamby, with current ESSCom commander Hamzah Ahmad set to serve as deputy Bukit Aman narcotics CID director.
