Drug dealer stabs two cops during arrest

The two policemen from the narcotics squad were trying to arrest a 30-year-old suspected of dealing in drugs.

KOTA BHARU:
Two policemen were stabbed while trying to arrest a suspected drug dealer by the side of a road in Pasir Mas, near here, yesterday.

Kelantan police chief Zaki Harun said the two men were from the narcotics squad at Kelantan police contingent headquarters.

“Aminullah Islahudin Selvan, 29, suffered an injury to his right wrist, elbow and his right calf while Arif Ismail, 28, was injured on his hand and back,” Zaki said.

He said police found 12,000 yaba pills and 282g of heroin in a black plastic bag carried by the 30-year-old suspect. He has been remanded for seven days.

In a separate case, police seized 30,000 yaba pills on Tuesday at the Rantau Panjang river and arrested a 27-year-old Thai national.
