Decomposed body of woman found stuffed in suitcase

The bag was left at an abandoned bus station in Kulai, Johor.

Police are still waiting for the full post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.
JOHOR BAHRU:
The decomposed body of a woman was found in a suitcase at an abandoned bus station in front of Kulai Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) yesterday.

Kulai police chief Tok Beng Yeow said in a statement that the bag was found by a man who then reported it to the police at about 1.50pm.

“The remains were sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) here for a post-mortem,” he said.

Based on the post-mortem report, the body was that of a woman, estimated to be over 25 years old.

The victim, who sustained a head injury, is believed to have died about two weeks ago.

Tok said police were still waiting for the full post-mortem report to determine the cause of death. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He urged anyone with information to go to the Kulai police headquarters or contact the investigating officer at 016-2850204.

Indonesian escapees remanded

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Tok said one of the two Indonesian prisoners who escaped last Tuesday, Samirudin, 36, would be remanded for four days starting today.

Yesterday, police recaptured the two prisoners who had escaped while en route from the Kota Tinggi court to Ledang prison.

Both detainees, Riki Rinaldi, 40, and Samirudin were found within 24 hours at two separate locations around Jalan Felda Inas-Kulai.

Riki has been remanded for four days beginning yesterday and the case is being investigated under Section 223/224 of the Penal Code.
