Minimum RM1,500 Aidilfitri aid for Penang civil servants

The payment, which will also be given to employees in the local authorities and state statutory bodies, will amount to RM10.95 million.

The Penang government has approved a special Aidilfitri aid of a minimum of RM1,500 or 75% of the monthly salary to state civil servants.

Chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said the aid, to be paid on April 17, will also be given to those in the local authorities and state statutory bodies.

It will involve a total allocation of RM10.95 million, Chow said in a statement today.

In addition, a special payment of RM300 will be channelled to supervisors and teachers of Al-Quran and Fardu Ain (Kafa) classes, and teachers and staff of religious primary and secondary schools, government-aided religious schools, tahfiz, pondok and Islamic kindergarten teachers, as well as teachers and staff of private Chinese schools in the state, he said.
