10 Melaka exco members sworn in, including 1 from DAP

The executive council now consists of nine Barisan Nasional assemblymen and one from Pakatan Harapan.

There are three new faces in the lineup of the Melaka executive council, one of whom is DAP assemblyman Seah Shoo Chin.

The exco now consists of nine Barisan Nasional assemblymen and one from Pakatan Harapan.

Ab Rauf Yusoh, who was sworn in as Melaka’s 13th chief minister last Friday, heads the economic planning, finance, land development, investments, industries, and TVET development portfolios.

Seven previous exco members have been re-elected, including Rais Yasin (Paya Rumput) as senior exco member for housing, local government, and environment, Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman (Telok Emas) for tourism, heritage, arts and culture, and Akmal Saleh (Merlimau) for rural development, agriculture and food security.

Kalsom Nordin (Pengkalan Batu) is the exco member for women’s affairs, family development and community portfolio, VP Shanmugam (Gadek) for youth, sports and NGOs,  Ngwe Hee Sem (Machap Jaya) for health, human resources and unity, and Rahmad Mariman (Ayer Molek) for education, higher education and religious affairs.

The three new faces are Fairul Nizam Roslan (Asahan), who takes on the science, technology, innovation and digital communications portfolio, Hameed Mytheen Kunju Basheer (Ayer Limau), who is the new exco member for public works, infrastructure, and transport, and Seah (Kesidang) for entrepreneur development, cooperatives and consumer affairs.

Two assemblymen dropped from the lineup are Zaidi Attan (Serkam) and Jailani Khamis (Rembia).

The 10 new exco members were sworn in this morning at the state secretariat building, Seri Negeri, according to Harian Metro.

The ceremony took place before governor Ali Rustam at about 8.40am.
