Kedah MB claims ‘buka puasa’ event in Selangor withdrawn

Sanusi Nor had earlier alleged that he was barred from federal government events, including LIMA in Langkawi.

Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor said the ‘buka puasa’ event will go ahead in Kuala Lumpur instead.
PETALING JAYA:
Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor claims that a breaking of fast or “buka puasa” event he was going to organise in Serdang, Selangor, has been disallowed by the government.

After saying yesterday that he was banned from attending federal government events, Sanusi now claims the approval for the “buka puasa” event at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) on April 9 has been withdrawn by the agriculture and food security ministry.

“We only wanted to hold a ‘buka puasa’ event. The Kedah government will even pay to rent the hall,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Sanusi said the event will proceed but will be held in Kuala Lumpur instead.

Yesterday, he had claimed that he was banned from taking part in events organised by the federal government, including the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) in May.

He also claimed the decision was made by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet, although he did not elaborate.

While the Prime Minister’s Office has not responded to requests for comment on Sanusi’s claim, communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil said he was unsure what the PAS leader meant.

Fahmi maintained that the unity government was willing to work with all parties to serve the people.
