MACC denies claim 2 officers are masterminds of corruption case

The anti-graft agency says the duo will be lodging a police report on the allegation.

MACC said the allegation is an attempt to tarnish its reputation.
PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has denied a blogger’s allegation that two of its senior officers are the masterminds of a corruption case involving a corporate company.

In a statement, MACC said it has taken the statements of the two officers, who will lodge a police report.

It said the baseless allegation was an attempt to tarnish the commission’s reputation.

“If there is evidence of wrongdoing, the accuser should come forward and lodge a report instead of making allegations on social media anonymously,” MACC said.

“MACC will not succumb to pressure from any party seeking to divert attention from the corruption and money laundering cases we are investigating.”

Edisi Siasat recently claimed that a businessman had lodged a report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters alleging that he was blackmailed by two MACC officers.
