In a circular, public services department (JPA) director-general Zulkapli Mohamed said RM700 will be paid to all civil servants on Grade 56 and below who are still serving as of April 17, while public service retirees will receive RM350.

Contract workers are also eligible for the RM700 aid.

Zulkapli said retirees and veterans who have been reappointed on a permanent or temporary basis, and are still serving as of April 17, qualify to receive the RM700 aid.

Among those who do not qualify are officers in top management and those subject to disciplinary action or demotion from Jan 1 to April 17.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the Aidilfitri special financial assistance when tabling Budget 2023 last month.
