PETALING JAYA:
Railway operator Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has apologised for the service disruption in the Klang Valley today, blaming it on power outage caused by a thunderstorm.

The disruption affected both the Komuter and Electric Train Service (ETS).

In a Facebook post, KTMB said the disruption to its service occurred along the Kepong – Rawang and Rasa – Slim River route, as well as along the Batu Caves – Taman Wahyu route.

“The power outage caused trains to be delayed up to 120 minutes along the affected routes.”

Frustrated commuters had earlier taken to social media to vent their anger over the disruptions.

Some also demanded a refund, while others suggested that the railway operator come up with a backup plan for such contingencies.

As of 11.30pm, KTMB’s ETS has resumed operations.
