
PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating the death threats made against the director and actor of locally produced movie “Mentega Terbang” for criminal intimidation.
They are also investigating the case for committing mischief, The Star quoted Selangor police chief Hussien Omar Khan as saying.
Yesterday, director Khairi Anwar said he had received death threats over the movie, which touches on the differences and similarities of the country’s major religions.
Among the messages left at his house in Selangor were “You and your family must die” and “Do you think your family is safe, Mentega Terbang?”
Khairi’s car was also splashed with black and red paint.
He also said that actor Arjun Thanaraju’s car was splashed with red paint and acid.
