The man’s abuse at the hands of the two men was recorded in a video that went viral on social media, with the case now being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the restaurant worker claimed in his report that he reprimanded the two suspects over their “unsanitary behaviour” in using their fingers to take some food from one of the containers, Sinar Harian reported.
“Angry at being reprimanded, the two suspects then hit the worker, including with iron utensils – which caused the victim to suffer minor injuries,” Wan Kamarul was quoted as saying.
“The victim also claimed the two suspects were drunk at the time of the incident.”
Wan Kamarul said the three suspects had gone to the restaurant for dinner in the incident which occurred at 7.30pm last night.
The men, aged between 50 and 51, were arrested in two separate locations.
He said two of them had previous records for crime and drug-related offences.
Meanwhile, Wan Kamarul said the restaurant manager claimed in his report that he suffered losses with the two accused having damaged the restaurant equipment, plates and utensils during the incident.
The manager also said that many dishes were contaminated and had to be thrown away, he added.
