PETALING JAYA:
Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal is contesting a post on the party’s Supreme Council as he is past the age limit for the Youth post.

“As I will be 36 this year, I have exceeded the age limit for Armada (youth wing) membership,” he told reporters at the wing’s annual assembly today, Bernama reported.

“I’ll be moving upwards. What position, I will not announce it today but I’ll be playing with the big boys,” he said.

It is understood that the central committee elections will take place in November, branch elections in July and divisional elections in October.

Fayhsal said he had proposed that Armada candidates be considered to contest state assembly elections in six states later this year.

“At the moment we already have some names but that’s just a suggestion,” he said. Negotiations are ongoing on state constituencies. “There will be at least one Armada candidate in each state because that has been the tradition,” he said.
