Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the suspects, aged between 24 and 30, would be charged soon.
“The trio admitted to murdering the 48-year-old security guard in a store room of an apartment in Sungai Buloh.
“They murdered him out of revenge as the victim had allegedly bullied and hit the suspects at work,” Hussein said at a press conference.
Hussein said that after the trio murdered the victim, they dismembered his body, stuffed it in the suitcase, and carried it on a motorcycle before dumping it along the highway.
However, one of the three suspects is at large and is believed to have left the country after committing the crime.
River-widening project
On a separate matter, Hussein said police had referred a report against Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari and executive councillor Izham Hashim over a RM700 million river-widening project to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission as it falls under the anti-graft agency’s purview.
The report was filed by Puchong Bersatu chief Shukor Mustafa yesterday.
Shukor had claimed that Amirudin had abused his power as the latter sat on the board of the company, Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd, which had been awarded the project. Amirudin has since denied the claims.
