“I apologise. It’s time to move on to more important matters concerning the people,” Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN-Kubang Kerian) said in the Dewan Rakyat today.
On Feb 21, RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) had reprimanded the PAS deputy president during the debate on the royal address for implying that the King’s speech had been dictated by Putrajaya.
Rayer said the remark was “improper” and demanded that Tuan Ibrahim retract his statement and apologise to the King and the Dewan Rakyat.
Today, Speaker Johari Abdul said he had met with Tuan Ibrahim and the issue was now resolved.
A brief shouting match had erupted in the lower House between Tuan Ibrahim and Rayer last week.
Tuan Ibrahim said he was aware the government of the day was able to submit its input for the royal address and that it was at the discretion of the King whether to accept the input.
Rayer then asked how Tuan Ibrahim would know if the government’s input was accepted or not.
Deputy speaker Alice Lau allowed Tuan Ibrahim to continue his speech.
